When it comes to buying a rug, it’s important that it fits the space that it’s intended for and it complements the existing décor, furniture and surroundings. To do this you will need to think about several factors including the room layout, the style of rug, the material and your colour scheme as well as the shape and size.

Rugs won’t work well for all rooms. Runner rugs wouldn’t be suited to a smaller living room while square rugs wouldn’t work with a round dining table. Finding the right rug requires research, an understanding of your space and your design choices.

Care Instructions

Purchasing a new rug often comes with a temporary phase of shedding or fluff release. To tackle this, consistent vacuuming is effective in eliminating any loose particles.

Given that rugs frequently endure foot traffic, they naturally accumulate a significant amount of dirt and debris. To preserve their quality, it's advisable to vacuum them on a regular basis.

In the event of spills, it's best to dab the affected area with a clean cloth or tissue. Avoid rubbing the stain, as this can alter the rug's texture and may permanently affect its original state. Instead, gently blot from the edges towards the center to prevent the stain from spreading.

To prevent damage, such as tears, keep your pet's nails well-trimmed. Also, be cautious not to overly dampen the rug when trying to remove stains or pet hair. Additionally, prolonged exposure to direct sunlight should be avoided, as it can lead to the rug's colors fading.

If you're placing the rug under furniture, consider using furniture cups to protect it.
